Orla and Pauric's Story: Funded Fertility Grant

“We are Pauric and Orla and we are both from Donegal. I (Orla) work as a spa therapist and Pauric as a store man. We met at school and have been together for 14 years now. We always wanted to get married and to have children. We started trying over three years ago. And after a year and half I went to a local GP to get bloods done, and everything came back as normal so we hoped things would work out themselves but unfortunately, they didn’t. We hoped for the best every month, but it continued, and we were left disappointed every month. We heard about Thérapie Fertility through a friend and contacted them. We were two and a half years into our journey at this stage.When Dr. John called to let us know we had been successful recipients of the Funded Fertility Grant we were delighted... as well as this journey being an emotional rollercoaster there is also a financial worry too. Especially with us having to travel from Donegal with days off work, the price of diesel, food and occasional having to stay in Dublin for the night, due to early appointments. So, the grant has definitely taken some of the financial pressure off.Our journey so far has not been as straightforward as we expected, there have been many bumps in the road. Most recently, we had hoped for a fresh transfer, unfortunately due to overstimulation we could not proceed with this resulting in a freeze all cycle. However, the cycle has resulted in lots of embryos waiting for us when the time comes for frozen transfer which we are hoping, all going well will take place in the next few weeks.We really want to thank Dr John, Dr Megat and all the team in Thérapie Fertility for all their help. Everyone has been so helpful, supportive and welcoming to us on our journey so far. All our questions and queries are answered promptly, and we have been made feel so comfortable at every stage.”
